A note about Tulip.
“Anvi Girls Hostel is a sunlit, family-run home for college-going girls in the heart of Dharmapeth — a five-minute walk from RTMNU and the Law College. We opened in 2014 in a quiet residential lane, and eleven years on, the only thing that has changed is the Wi-Fi speed. We are intentionally small — twenty-four girls at a time across three floors — because we like to know everyone by name. We know who has an exam on Friday, who likes their chai without sugar, and who calls home every Sunday at 7pm. That scale is the whole point. The house has three floors of bright, cross-ventilated rooms — a mix of single private rooms for senior students and two-, three- and four-bed shared rooms for first and second years. Every room has an attached or shared bathroom, a study desk per resident, a large window, and an almirah with a lock. Hot water runs 24 hours on every floor. Our in-house kitchen serves three home-style vegetarian meals a day — fresh rotis hand-rolled by Aaji, two sabzis at lunch, dal-rice-salad at dinner, and a different sweet every Sunday. Special diets (Jain, low-spice, allergy-aware) are no extra charge — just tell us at intake. Beyond the basics, you get: a sun-filled common room that turns into a study hall after 9pm, a rooftop garden the girls have slowly taken over with tulsi and gerbera, a quiet library nook on the first floor, a small sick-room with first-aid, daily housekeeping, weekly laundry, 100 Mbps fibre Wi-Fi with a backup line for exam season, full power backup, CCTV in common areas, and a 24-hour security guard at the gate. What makes us a little different is the Abhay biometric system at the entrance. Every entry and exit is logged automatically, and parents who opt in get a simple daily check-in summary on WhatsApp. No more paper registers, no guesswork about who's home — just calm, quiet visibility for the families who entrust us with their daughters. Come and visit. Mornings are quieter and the kitchen smells like fresh chapatis. Even if you don't end up staying, have a cup of chai with us — that's how every Anvi friendship has started.”

My children loved it
A few things parents usually ask.
Can my parents visit me at the hostel?
Of course. Parents are welcome any day between 10 am and 8 pm — no appointment needed. There is a small parents' lounge on the ground floor where you can sit and have chai. Many parents drop in on the way back from work, especially on weekends.
Is there a curfew?
The main gate closes at 9:00 pm. If you are going to be later than that, please give the warden a call in advance — we would rather you come home late than not come home. For overnight trips outside Nagpur, we ask for a quick WhatsApp from a parent.
What does the rent include?
Rent covers your room, three vegetarian meals daily, 100 Mbps Wi-Fi, 24-hour hot water, electricity up to 80 units per month, housekeeping twice a week, and laundry once a week. Extras like ironing, additional laundry loads, or electricity above 80 units are billed separately at standard rates.
How fast is the Wi-Fi?
We have a 100 Mbps fibre line in every room with a backup connection that automatically kicks in if the main line goes down — important during exams and submission weeks. Speeds may dip slightly between 9 and 11 pm when everyone is on a video call or streaming.
How does the biometric entry system work? Is it mandatory?
Yes, it replaces the old paper register. Your fingerprint is enrolled once during intake and stays only on the device at our gate — we do not store it anywhere else, ever. Parents who opt in get a daily WhatsApp summary of your check-ins. You can opt out of parent notifications after you turn
How do I move in? What is the process?
Visit us in person or schedule a quick WhatsApp video tour. Once you decide, you pay one month rent plus one month refundable deposit, share your Aadhaar copy and a parent's mobile number, and bring a passport-size photo. We complete the Abhay biometric enrolment the same day and hand over the keys. Most move-ins are done within an hour.
A few honest house rules
- · Main gate closes at 9:00 pm — for late arrivals, please call the warden in advance.
- · Parents and family are welcome any day between 10 am and 8 pm.
- · Male visitors only in the ground-floor parents' lounge — not on residential floors.
- · Quiet hours from 10:30 pm to 6:30 am, especially during exam season.
- · One calendar month notice required before moving out, in writing.
- · No cooking in rooms — chai and snacks are fine. Use the common kitchen for anything more.
- · Outstation trips need a parent's WhatsApp confirmation to the warden.
- · Smoking, alcohol and any illegal substances are strictly not permitted on the premises.
Drop a line — or just walk in for chai.
We usually reply on WhatsApp within an hour. If you'd like to schedule a visit, mornings are quieter.
