Delete Your Account & Data
How to ask us to delete your Abhay account and the personal data linked to it, and what happens after you do.
1. Who can request deletion
Any Abhay user — warden, parent, guardian, student or staff member — can ask us to delete their account and the personal data linked to it. A parent or legal guardian may make the request on a minor's behalf. This page sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains in full what data we hold and your wider rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
2. How to request deletion
Send a written request to helpdesk@saundaryaroof.homes from the email address linked to your account. If your account uses only a phone number, write from any address and quote your workspace code and the phone number you log in with. Please use the subject line "Delete my account and data". We verify your identity before acting on the request and respond within thirty (30) days.
3. What gets deleted
- Your account, profile, photograph and login credentials.
- Attendance and movement (in / out punch) records linked to your account.
- Leave records, safety alerts and in-app messages tied to your account.
- Push-notification subscriptions and active session data.
4. Deletion timeline
- Primary stores: your data is purged from our live databases within seven (7) days of us verifying the request.
- Encrypted backups: purged within ninety (90) days as backups roll over and expire.
- Legal minimum: after purge, we retain only the minimum metadata that law requires us to keep (for example, tax records of past invoices).
5. Data your Workspace controls
Most personal data in Abhay is uploaded by a Workspace Owner (the hostel, office, factory or college that enrolled you). Where your request concerns data that the Workspace Owner controls — for example, a student record entered by a hostel — we may need to redirect the request to that Workspace Owner, and we will tell you when we do. You can also ask the Workspace Owner directly to remove your record.
6. Questions
For anything about this process, or to escalate a complaint, contact our Grievance Officer (see Privacy Policy §16) or write to helpdesk@saundaryaroof.homes.
